  1. Lol, definitely going to try that one- hahaha.
  2. So I've been commuting for a while now and was always hesitant to give somebody the finger for acting like a tjop on the road. Recently though I think I've found a good compromise- I give people a nice big thumbs down. I feel like my point is conveyed well enough and they are well aware that they were being a chop and hopefully don't get as agro as if it was a zap- Win win
  3. I've had a CO monitor alarm go off in the car before in bumper to bumper traffic- don't think that you're immune in your car and should suddenly care now that you're outside.
  4. My 2c. Had a similar thing on an Old Alu Raleigh. Took it to a panel beater who welded it up quickly- took 10min. Was ugly as hell, but it worked. Sold it to a friend like that and still going strong.
  5. So it was fixed with some pratleys and lots of sealant, but think it was pumped up a little too hard for the last ride and started splitting further. Looks like there are similar hairline cracks in the front one too. Very weird as I have a pair of CrossTrails and haven't had any such issues (Touch wood).
  6. Cool, thanks. Will have a look.
  7. Ok, had a look at a couple of online shops and nobody has any 26" rims... Any ideas?
  8. Had a quick look for a similar 26" wheel (tubeless and sealed bearings) and isn't much in the 2nd hand section.
  9. So this happened... Anybody tried to weld something like this? Or any other bright ideas? I'm a cheapskate so want to fix it.
  10. Thanks for the replies. Most helpful indeed.
  11. So just a wind jammer and normal shirt underneath? Never used one- anything I should look for / avoid ?
  12. The hill on the way home from work is alway hard, but eventually you sweat less People at work judge you, but you judge them right back Commuters with beards look cool, but I always wonder if they have a real job The wind can be so strong that you have to abandon ship or hit the pavement You'll always come second in a collision, never forget it When riding a SS up a hill and somebody on a road bike passes you they'll say nice bike, you just grunt Picking up groceries in the way home is hard, especially corn flakes or anything in a big box- couple this with wind and you're a sail- see point 4 above Bedtime is earlier
  13. So with winter approaching and with an eye on commuting no matter what I have a few questions on gear for the cold. I've tried a big jacket and works great for the first few km but then its a sweat box, so any advice- what do you use? Gloves? Leggings? Or just man up? Booties? or man up some more? Lights are a no brainer and have recently kitted out the rig with some yellow replective tape stips on the bike which make it feel more visible- any other suggestions? Thanks in advance.
