  1. I have done it once last year in about November. It was fine. Wide yellow lines. My son rides it often and lives in Somerset West. I probably wouldn't ride in peak traffic.
  2. For a fast race you need a road bike. I used to battle with 50/11 on one bike, also 53/12 on another in normal races just keeping up. I think you did pretty well to do 42 km in an hour.
  3. Email Protune Solutions in Hilton. See what they say.
  4. Lol. I still have it. Brand new, I'll sell it to you. I think I paid R100 on aliexpress.
  5. https://liv2ride.co.za/shop/parts/all-different-bike-hangers/silverback-hangers/silverback-hanger-9/ This looks like a Silverback hanger.
  6. Find an engineering shop that sells stainless steel bolts. They look much better.
  7. It's fine. They all come out like this. Clean it and put back. Don't use too much grease.
  8. I used the whatsapp number, they replied in a few hours with a new seeding.
  9. Send an email to these guys https://www.protunebike.co.za . They are in Hilton, KZN. I believe that they may be able to replace single stanchions.
  10. Most of the field are palookas, you'll be fine. Only advice is make sure you bike is in top condition, take a few spares. Nothing sucks like bike trouble when you trying to enjoy your day out.
  11. This is it, I used them on the RC2000 frame, I am sure it is the same thing.
  12. I had a mate lengthen a steel steerer tube for me once, did a great job. I am not so sure about Aliminium. I have seen a carbon steerer tube lengthen (one that broke afterwards, unfortunately but no injuries). The Cervelo forks have carbon steerer, with aliminium sleeve, so I suppose if you lengthened your carbon fork steerer and put an aliminium sleeve inside for reinforcement, it would be very strong.
  13. I have an aluminium / steel extender which I bought from Aliexpress and never used (as you describe). It looks pretty solid, but would not use it on an MTB or road bike meant for proper riding. Some things you don't mess with. Not worth the risk. Edit: I bought it to use on a bike that was going to be set up on an indoor trainer.
