Wow this is hectic. 

Please take the 16 year old for trauma counselling. I was bike jacked 10 months ago and this morning a dodgy oke walked off the pavement and flight and fight kicked in and I sprinted off leaving my mates sitting there waiting for everyone else. 

It sits below the surface.

16 year old cycling home from school, was accosted by two guys just outside Arderne Gardens entrance. Bike and phone stolen. Tracked phone to Wetton Road, chased the guy to entrance of Bonnytown informal settlement. Attempted to recover bike there but the guy pulled a knife and rode off.

This area has become a hotspot now, a mate of mine was knocked off his bike about a month ago coming down Wetton bridge right before the football field, the 3 guys fled into the bushes on the left toward the informal settlement, mate picked up a half a brick and chased the guys, managed to hit 1 of them with a half a brick and managed to hold onto his bike then a few days later there was another incident reported at the same spot. Hope he gets his bike back.

Sickening. These informal settlements are a major contributor to these opportunistic attacks.

Extremely poor people, all living "off the grid" in terms of being legally identifiable and traceable and a police force that (with some exceptions of course) is "focused on other things" is never going to bode well for law abiding people.  :-(
